Trish Ellis has been in the recruiting industry for over twenty years, and after all this time, she still loves the recruiting business. Her story is ordinary in some ways and extraordinary in so many others. Trish's career path began New York in 1985. Early in her career, she had a love/hate relationship with recruiting. She didn’t really hate it, but she found it confusing and often frustrating. This led her on a path to discover her purpose and passion in life. That purpose and passion, along with her powerful and effective On Target Processes, gets passed on to every single person she meets and has the privilege to work with as a Career Coach.
In 1991 while Trish was still living in New York, the big market crash of the time changed the industry enough that her dislike of recruiting won out prompting her to quit her job and go back to school to become an elementary education teacher. Attaining her degree in 1995, she moved to Colorado, where she planned on wearing Laura Ashley dresses and teaching elementary education in the mountains. Although she had general teaching credentials, Colorado was one of four states that did not accept the National Teachers Exams. While waiting to take Colorado’s equivalent exam, she went back to recruiting on a temporary basis. We never quite know what decisions and events will change the course of our lives; that temporary situation turned into a permanent position and set her on a course that would lead her to the discovery of her life’s passion.
In 1997 Trish moved to Toronto, Canada to become the sole recruiter for a startup division of Bell Canada, called Bell Emergis. That was her first entry into corporate internal recruiting, which she successfully continued for many years in several states. In 2001 Trish moved into Account Management in the high tech market and moved to Irvine, California. Due to the economic downturn in February 2002, she eventually moved back into recruiting for various clients throughout the Southern California area.
After so many years of recruiting for clients and placement for job candidates, she finally realized that what she loved best about her work was Career Coaching. What Trish loves about the recruiting industry is what she has always been about, even as a little girl. It’s the people. She loves guiding people, assisting them in winning big in their lives, realizing their skills and passions and assisting them to express that in their jobs. She is a natural coach. She brings her passion about career guidance and the game of life to every aspect of her work. Trish has worked with thousands of people, assisting them in discovering their passion and how they can apply that passion to their career choices. For her, this is not a job, it’s her passion and her calling. She lives for the satisfaction of assisting others in finding their career passion. For if you love what you do, it’s not a job, it’s part of you, and you’ll never work a day in your life. That’s what Trish is passionate about for her clients!
