Often players wonder what distinguishes a coach from some of the other wonderful helping professionals available.  Here are a few quick thoughts to create a basic understanding.*

• Consultant
  A consultant will help you understand a situation and share expertise and knowledge. Trish Ellis will share with you everything she knows if and when you need it.  If she don’t have some expertise you need, she will help you find it.  The key difference is that as a coach Trish will help YOU become the expert in your own game.
  
  
• Counselor
  A counselor will share wisdom and help you make decisions when you are troubled it is very hard to play well.  Trish Ellis will do this whenever your trouble is related to the game we are playing.  If it is outside the game, she will help however she can.  If not, Trish find you someone who can help.  It is important to know that coaching is not an intervention for problems.  Coaching is about playing better and empowering YOU to make your own wise decisions. • Therapist
  A therapist will help you heal wounds past and present, Trish Ellis has some basic skills in this area.  If the wound is too deep and we need a professional, Trish will help you find someone to help you.  Then when you are ready, we’ll get you back into the game.
  
  
• Psychologist
  A psychologist will help you understand your behavior, everyone knows that coaches use psychology because the mental game is so important to playing well.  If you get really blocked and we can’t figure out the problem together, Trish will call in an expert to assist with the issue.
  
  
• Trainer
  A trainer will teach you new skills, which is one of the main jobs Trish will accomplish as your coach. She will teach you the skills you need to win your game. On Target Career Coaching will design it just for you based on your situation.  If we need to find you a specialist for a particular skill that you really need that Trish can’t teach you, we’ll find one to do it.  Often times a skill trainer will leave after they teach you what they know, Trish is not going anywhere. We are in this together for as long as you need me.
  
  
• Coach
  As your coach, On Target Career Coaching will do any and all of the above things when you need them.  When they will help you play better and win on your own terms Trish will be there to help you achieve your goals! Many professionals are trained to stay uninvolved, to maintain a cool and professional detachment. For for many professions that might be the wise approach, however Trish is not like most other professionals - she is YOUR coach!
