Personally, I have always thought that it was wrong, that at the age of 18 you had to make a decision as to what you are going to study for the next 4 years and then when you’re done studying you have to choose a career path for the rest of your life.  You probably don’t even have a clue about what opportunities are out there.  Everyone keeps telling you that the world is your oyster, which is true, the problem is that the world is so big it can be overwhelming.  There are opportunities out there today that we didn’t even know existed 5 years ago - smart phone technologies, DVR technologies, Social Media, I could go on, but you get the point.
